Meet Jeanine
“Hello everyone! My name is Jeanine, and I’m a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and I previously owned by own yoga studio. I’m thrilled to be here at Empowered, where I’ll be offering yoga classes designed to help you reset your nervous system.
Exploring various styles, including Power, SUP, Aerial, Chair, Vinyasa, Gentle, Restorative and Yin. My favourite class to teach is Candlelight YinVin – a blend of Yin and Vinyasa where we create a calming atmosphere with dim lighting to find stillness and introspection, then “flow it out” with a short vinyasa practice and long savoury savasana.
Recognizing that many of you experience a lot of yang energy through self-defence practices, I’m here to offer a complementary approach that focuses on a nervous system reset. Through slow, gentle, restorative or yin-style movements or holds, my goal is to help you find balance and stillness amid the action.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you, creating a space for rejuvenation, connection, and mindfulness.”
6 Week Yoga Series & Drop-In Classes
Join 200-hour certified Yoga Teacher Jeanine Chouinard for an exploration of restorative yoga styles. These classes are designed to help calm your nervous system, bring you out of fight-or-flight, and settle your mind before bed.
The 6 Week Series will run from Sunday March 8 to Sunday April 19 (note: there is no class on Easter Sunday) from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Drop-in spots will be available throughout the series pending availability.
Mats are recommended but not required. Our studio flooring has supportive tatami mats that offer a little bit of give and a little bit of grip, making them perfect for yoga if you leave your mat at home.
Because this is a slow practice, we encourage you to wear comfy clothing and layers, as you may find it cool inside the studio, particularly during savasana.
