Led by Kim Repp of Big Sky Pilates

Mat Pilates develops deep core stability, postural control, and body awareness that make every movement more effective and efficient. It strengthens the stabilizing muscles that protect your joints, support your spine, and keep you balanced — benefits that carry over into daily life, athletic training, and yes, even self-defence.

Kim Repp is comprehensively certified Pilates instructor and has been instructing Pilates since 2018. Her love of learning and curiosity had led her to enjoy incorporating different movement methods along with classical Pilates foundations and principles into her classes. A successful class to Kim is one where each client feels strength and confidence in their relationship with movement. 

When not teaching, Kim loves seeking out live music, being outdoors, and watching reality tv while snuggling with her pug, Penny!

Kim is excited to offer classes with Empowered Defence Centre and is looking forward to instructing classes in an accessible and welcoming environment to all levels of movement experience!

6 Week Intro to Pilates Series & Drop-In Classes

Build an unshakeable foundation by joining Kim for our 6 Week Intro to Pilates Series. This series is an excellent starting place for beginners who are new to Pilates, but also a chance for more experienced practitioners to dive deeper into these foundational movements. Drop-in spots will also be available throughout the series pending availability.

Class Times: Wednesdays at 7pm (60min class)

Free Trial Class: Wednesday April 15 2026 *Registration required

Series Start Date: Wednesday April 22 2026

  • Bringing your own yoga mat is recommended but not required. Our studio flooring has supportive tatami mats that offer a little bit of give and a little bit of grip, making them perfect for pilates if you leave your mat at home. 
  • We encourage you to wear comfortable athletic clothing and wear grippy pilates socks
  • We recommend that you bring your own water bottle. No water fountains on site.
